HAVE AN EXTRAORDINARY ENCOUNTER THROUGH ‘SITUATIONIST’
The latest iPhone App from the unpredictable artistic duo, Benrik, the guys behind the bestselling book ‘The Diary Will Change Your Life’ series.
This app aims to bring a thrilling spontaneity to your everyday encounters with strangers, alerting members of their proximity to each other and then inviting them to interact with each other by supplying a profile photo and command.
These instructions range from the innocent, ‘Compliment me on my haircut’ and ‘wave at me like a long lost friend’ to the political ‘Help me rouse everyone around us into revolutionary fervour and storm the nearest TV station’.
Members pick their own shortlist of interactions and although they can suggest their own these are screened to dissuade creepy stalker behaviour. Photos are also moderated to prevent Chatroulette-style shenanigans.
I’m sceptical and intrigued. Give it a shot – you never know who you’re going to meet.
