Guys, this is a really beautiful piece of theatre. Jane Bodie’s new play, ‘This Year’s Ashes’ opened at Griffin Last Night. Directed by Shannon Murphy, staring Belinda Bromillow, Tony Lewellyn- Jones and Nathan Lovejoy.

We follow the story of Ellen, a thirty something Sydneysider, living in a world that seems a little too fast and overwhelming for her to handle.* What I love so much about Jane’s work is that it’s set in Sydney; we become a part of the story, we follow it and relate to it on a completely different level to so many other Australian works.

There are some really beautiful, magic moments. What a wonderful way to end this year’s season at Griffin.

Get yourself to it, I promise you won’t regret it!

*I’m not giving away any spoilers, you’ll have to see it to really understand what I’m getting at.
